National Service Scheme

 Objectives-

   The main objective is to develop the personality of students through community service. Other objectives are-

1. Understanding the community in which they work.
2. Understanding themselves in relation to their community.
3. Identify the needs and problems in the community in solution of which they can be involved.
4. Develop among themselves a sense of social and civil responsibility.
5. Apply their education in finding practical solutions to individual and community problems.
6. Gain skill in mobilizing community participation.
7. Acquire leadership qualities and democratic attitude.
8. Practice national integration.

The MOTTO- “NOT ME BUT YOU”

No of N.S.S. Units-

  There are 3 N.S.S. Units (1 Boys unit and 2 Ladies Units). One boy’s unit in +2 and two lady’s unit in +3. The nominal strength of each unit is 50 volunteers.

Who shall be a member?

1. He/ she shall be a student of this institution.
2. He/ she must have the attitude and motive in social and voluntary activities.
3. He/ she shall continue as a student volunteer at least for 2 years.
4. He/ she should bear a good moral character.

Activities of N.S.S.-

           Two types of Camping programs are undertaken-

1. Normal camping programs
2. Special camping programs

                                The duration of Normal camping program is one day of 6 hours. The duration of special camping program is at least 7 days or as decided by the program coordinator, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.

A student enrolled in N.C.C. is not allowed to join N.S.S.

The N.S.S. units are managed by 3 program officers. The Principal constitutes the Advisory Committee and convene its meeting at least once in 3 months, monitors the programs and ensure maintenance of records and accounts.

 The N.S.S. units work under the program co-ordinator, N.S.S. Bureau, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and are governed by the rules of the N.S.S. manual guidelines received from time to time.
