Youth Red Cross

MOTTO-Service-

  “Indian Red Cross Society”, Odisha state branch started from 1994 A.D. The youth red cross unit of G. Sc. College, Athgarh affiliated to it from very said period and this unit is open to all students and members. One or two members of the staff nominated by the principal as counsellors for different activities. Student enrollment is made in the beginning of academic session. The mission and vision of this unit as humanitarian organization encourages and entertains human value, enhances the fellow felling among the young mass with multiple forms of service. Its aim and objectives are promotion of health and hygiene. Service to others, to create world friendliness.

   The Red Cross unit of this college is running successfully for 20 years. Under the guidance of counsellors. Now the youth wing dedicates its activities and achievements throughout year under the active support and supervision of Sri P.K. Das and G. Tripathy. Different activities are celebrated for the welfare of students as well as the society. The active support Red Ribbon Club is also very important. These are some notable events are-

1. Orientation program on Red Cross Movement.
2. Cleaning and Plantation program.
3. Observance of college foundation Day.
4. Independence Day and Republic Day celebration.
5. Swacha Bharat Abhiyan.
6. Health checkup and Health Education Program.
7. First Aid training program.
8. District and State level literary Competition.
9. HIV/AIDS Awareness.
10. Special seva camp at the Dhabaleswar Temple.
11. Disaster management.
12. Road safety awareness program.
13. National Youth Day.

The Youth Red Cross Principles-

       Humanity, Impartiality, Neutrality, Independent Voluntary Service, Units and Universality.

1. Membership is open to all students and members of the staff. The YRC is affiliated to the Red Cross Society of India.
2. A member of the staff is nominated by the Principal as Counsellor. The Counsellor shall select a group of volunteers from the students who shall organize Blood Donation Camps, First Aid Training and shall motivate the students to render help to the needy during natural calamities.
